Tuborg (part 2)

April 7, 2026

We Don’t Have To. And Neither Do You.

The first film asked a simple question: why do we keep saying yes when everything in us wants to say no? The second one gets specific.

Make more friends. Be seen in the right places. Drink what they’re drinking. Think what they’re thinking. The social playbook is unwritten, unspoken — and somehow, everyone seems to know the rules but you.

Tuborg’s You Don’t Have To — conceived by Ogilvy Asia Pacific — turns its lens on that particular kind of pressure. The kind that doesn’t come from one person or one moment, but from the slow accumulation of a thousand small expectations. Conform. Fit in. Keep up.

The second global film, once again directed by Terence Neale, picks up exactly where the first left off — same visual conviction, same refusal to look away — but this time the target is sharper. Social pressure in its most recognisable form.

We Don’t Have To. But We Did.

There’s a certain kind of brief that reminds you why you got into this industry. Tuborg’s You Don’t Have To was one of them.

Conceived by Ogilvy China/Hong Kong, the campaign is built around a genuinely resonant idea: that today’s youth don’t have to bend to the relentless pressure of social media, peer expectation, and the exhausting need to perform a version of themselves online. An anti-hustle manifesto dressed as a beer campaign — and it lands.

Quad China produced. Four days on the ground in Bangkok, one very clear creative vision.

The films were directed by Terence Neale — Cannes Grand Prix-winning filmmaker behind Adidas’ landmark Original Is Never Finished — whose instinct for work that feels culturally urgent, visually bold, and emotionally honest is all over this.

This is Phase One — the first of two global films. Watch this space for what comes next.
